Long Road Home-Black Hills Wolves

Thom is suspicious, flirty, and—worst of all—human. He believes the whole town of Los Lobos is one large cult. And if that isn’t bad enough, somebody seems determined to kill him. The man might as well have a huge, Do Not Touch sign painted on his back.

None of that stops Hank from wanting the farmer the moment they meet. Just because he wants something, however, doesn’t mean he’s going to get it. He learned that lesson early on in life. Thanks to his sexual orientation, he’ll never find the one thing every Wolf craves: a pack. Best for him to do his job and get back on the road.

But time spent with a human can do funny things to a Wolf. Especially a human as addictive as Thom.

Excerpt:

“No need to apologize. This morning added a bit of adventure to an otherwise-boring week.” Hank didn’t want him to feel bad for anything, especially since his gut still told him the attack was on the Tao pack more than the farmer. “I do need to run something by you.”
  “Okay.”
Here goes. He took a deep breath and started, “Drew and I think you might benefit from a little extra help around the farm. Only until you’re healed.”
Thom cleared his throat. “I’ve got help. Also, I’m not an invalid.” He sat up straighter in the bed as if the action would prove he was capable of taking care of himself.
“We didn’t mean to imply we thought you were. Running a farm has to be a hard on a good day. You’re going to be laid up for at least a couple of weeks. We wanted to help. An extra pair of hands couldn’t hurt, could it?” He held his hands palm up in front of him as he spoke.
Thom glanced at Hank’s hands and the sweetest shade of red swept over his cheeks—like strawberries in the summer. It took every ounce of control he had not to run his fingers along Thom’s blush.
“Whose hands?” He shook his head and coughed lightly. “I mean, who would you send to help with the farm?”
“Me.” Hank said the word so softly, it might as well have been a whisper. “Before you say anything, you should know I’d need a place to sleep while I’m there.” His heart raced and his stomach knotted with sexual tension as he imagined sleeping in a warm bed next to the handsome farmer.

Thom’s eyes widened and his mouth dropped into an O as he stared at Hank. “You?” Surely the man wasn’t suggesting what Thom hoped he was. Gorgeous men didn’t drop from the sky and throw themselves into his bed.

Scent of The Hunt by Cam Cassidy #BHW

Brogan James came to Los Lobos for a quick, simple meeting with Ryker, but things get complicated when the town is rocked by their Alpha being shot and the human mate of one of their pack members murdered. One of three wolves cleared of the crime, with Ryker at the time of the murder, Brogan sets out using his skills as a tracker to catch the killer.
Natalie Gabbin accepted her destiny when her one true mate chose to walk away years ago. Now that he’s back in town, will she have the strength to turn away from him or give in to the desires of one more night in his arms?
With Brogan close by, a murderer on the loose, and tensions in the pack rising, will Brogan forget the past and claim the other half of his soul?
Excerpt:
Scent.... One of the few senses with the ability to take you back, transport you to a different time or place. Sometimes to a good place, others to one you would rather forget, or, more often in his case, a place you tried to forget but your mind refused to let go. His lungs filled with all the scents of home.
He turned slightly and inhaled. Sharp and spicy pine. A scent which brought back memories of a childhood long forgotten. Games played that made a young boy into the man he was today. Another scent caught on the breeze. Earthy, musky. The moss he knew could be found near the forest floor, covering the rocks and boulders never touched by the light of the sun.
Scent.... Pungent. He would have laughed at the scent under different circumstances. Only one place in Los Lobos offered it up. Gee’s diner and his damn fried pickles. Nothing reminded him more of home than that specific scent. He scrubbed a hand down his face, catching the next one as the breeze shifted a bit.
Scent.... Sweet, fresh. “Fuckin’ wildflowers,” he murmured to himself. As always, he could be anywhere in the world and the scent brought a specific image to his mind. Sometimes it felt more like a damn vision quest he refused to take. For years, he’d tried to forget the image and failed. It didn’t live in his mind; it had been burned into his soul. Hazel eyes, tipped-up nose, hair as dark as the midnight sky. One thought of Natalie Ann Gabbin, or Gabby as most of the pack called her, caused his chest to tighten. His alpha lay near death, and yet the thought of her caused his jeans to tighten and his heartbeat to grow stronger. He was kidding himself. The damn thing beat a rhythm more powerful than any shaman’s drum. He groaned and pressed the heel of his hand against the growing tightness. He could waste his time and come up with reasons he didn’t live with his pack. When, in truth, it only took one word: Gabby. He groaned on the exhale and discovered, much to his relief, the wind had changed. Unfortunately, now the breeze told a new tale. One no longer belonging here.
Scent…. Heady, metallic. One that caused the hair on the nape of his neck to stand on end. The scent of blood…Drew’s blood. Whose blood wasn’t even a question that needed to be asked; any member of the Tao pack would know it was the blood of the alpha.
At one final scent, his body tensed, on alert. Fetid, repulsive. It clogged his throat, threatening to choke him. It seemed to seep into his soul and refuse to leave. The scent of death.

Excerpt -

Yes Sir. Quite ready.
The words tunneled inside his head as he let the imaginary chain fall to the ground. But it wasn’t the words that had him climbing out of the SUV. That was due to the attached picture of his wife’s panties sitting next to her purse on the kitchen counter at home, where he’d told her to leave them both before she left the house.
Before she drove a few minutes from their house to the pitstop on the highway. Before she came to meet him. Before she came to submit to him.
Game on, ran through his mind.
He loved his wife and trusted her implicitly. She’d convinced him over the last weeks—and hours and hours of conversation—that she wanted this. Needed this. And if he were owning up to it, so did he. And he had every intention of making up for lost time. One more text was all he needed to send before approaching the sliding doors of the large convenience store.
Raising his phone, he texted his wife her first set of instructions.
Get a slush. Strawberry, since I know it’s your favorite. You have five minutes.
I’ll find you.
It didn’t take long for her response to ping his phone.
Smiley faces, hearts and an icon of a strawberry were her answers.
Such things probably shouldn’t make him harder, but they did.
No.
She did.
Everything she did turned him on. Every look, every outfit, every moan.
Fuck.
Rock-hard didn’t touch how horny he was for his wife.
Wedded bliss?
Hell yeah.........

Decadently Yours,
Jennifer Kacey

Is It Summer Yet?

Okay, I know a lot of you are going to be upset at me for complaining. It's not like I've got a foot of snow here or anything. But, I'm officially sick of winter.

It's cold. My skin is perpetually dry. And I don't have enough long sleeve shirts. That last one I know is completely on me. And I had enough long sleeve shirts last year. I have no idea what's happened to them. I'm fairly certain my dogs didn't eat them.

I thought moving to Texas would make the winter months easier to tolerate. And it did-for the first year. Now that we've been here four years, however, I've grown acclimated to the weather. And I've discovered I'm just not a cold weather person. Not even a little. I honestly think I need to move somewhere where it doesn't get below 70 year round. I think I need to find a warm beach someplace...

What about you? Are you sick of winter or are you the type that loves the cold?

New Release from Sabrina York: Herding Cat, A Hot SEALs/Stone Hard SEALs Kindle Worlds Crossover

Herding Cat By Sabrina York
A Hot SEALs/Stone Hard SEALs Crossover Novella

The scorching sequel to Guard Dog

It’s insane to want him, this beautiful, strong, sexy man. Not just because her hot bodyguard is tasked with herding her safely through the exotic night markets of Hong Kong. And not just because she’s his boss. But because they are worlds apart. What they have can only be a fling. It can’t last forever.
But Garrett has other ideas.

Read An Excerpt

It was a relief to get Catherine into another cab and head back to their hotel, but Garrett knew better than to relax. At least until they reached sanctuary. And even then, he would stay on alert.
This event had changed things, shifted them away from a standard protection op onto the offensive. “I’ll stay with you tonight.” God, it was hard keeping his tone casual.
Her head whipped around and she gaped at him. “What?”
“You cannot be alone.” Her horrified expression gutted him. He forced a laugh. “Don’t worry. I’ll sleep on the couch.” And thank God her suite had a sitting room. But he would have made a pallet on the floor if it hadn’t.
“I don’t need company.”
“You need protection.”
“No one is coming into my room.”
“Do you know that for certain? Are you willing to bet your life?” Because it could be that, exactly.
Her determination faltered. She nibbled her lip. He had to look away.
He wanted to nibble that lip. And more.
“In the event someone does try to get to you, I will be there.”
She huffed a sigh. “Oh, all right.” She was as petulant as a little girl, but he sensed some hint of relief in her tone. No doubt, despite her stalwart mask, she was scared.
She should be.
They pulled up to the hotel and Garrett exited the cab first, scanning the curved drive. There were far too many people standing around. “Come on,” he said, taking her hand and guiding her from the cab, across the drive and into the spinning doors of the hotel.
The lobby was busy too. Garrett quartered the space as he urged her toward the elevators. He was used to her turning heads—of course she would, she was drop-dead gorgeous—but at this moment it set his nerves on end.
A man sitting on a couch reading a newspaper captured his attention. The look in his eye was too sharp. Garrett quickly memorized his features. And there, another man, leaning against the counter of the registration desk…too calculating.
The wait for the elevator took forever. When it finally arrived, Garrett ushered her in. Perhaps with a little too much force. She glared at him.
He ignored her ire. An older couple stepped on the elevator with them, chattering about their evening and then, to Garrett’s annoyance, the newspaper man did as well. He glanced at the panel and pushed the button for the floor below Catherine’s.
Garrett knew, just knew, this man was not staying at this hotel. He reached forward and pushed a random button. When the elevator stopped on that floor, he ushered Catherine out.
Miraculously, she did not protest. But she did ask, when the elevator shushed closed, “Why did you do that?”
He shrugged. “Just a precaution.” And he needed time to prepare. In the event they arrived at the penthouse floor to find that man awaiting them. He called another elevator and pulled out his SIG Sauer, just to be safe.
Catherine’s eyes widened and she eeped, but she said nothing else.
The ride to their floor took moments. Garrett gestured for Catherine to stay back as he checked out the hall. To his relief, there was no one there. He quickly ushered her to the double doors of her suite and, again, motioned for her to wait. It took less than a minute for him to clear the room, but the entire time, his pulse slammed in his veins. He hated leaving her outside while he checked the closets and the bathroom, but it was safer.
When he was finally certain there was no one there, he pulled her inside and locked the door.
Finally.
Finally she was safe.
He nearly collapsed with relief.
Until she turned to him and said, “I’m hungry.”
He frowned at her. “We’re not going back out.”
“But I’m hungry.”
He stormed over to the desk, grabbed the room service menu and thrust it at her. She wrinkled her nose. “They charge an extra seventeen percent for room service.”
“It’s safer.”
She gusted a sigh, but dropped on the sofa—the one he’d be sleeping on, not that that thought winged through his mind—and studied the offerings. “Do you want anything?”
Well hell. He was a little hungry too. They’d had lunch at Hong Kong City Hall, but the dim sum had long ago been burned off. The adrenaline, probably. “Do they have burgers?”
She nodded. “That’s what I’m getting too.”
He liked that about her. Liked a woman who ate real food.
As she called in the order, he did a quick assessment of her suite, checking for any potential security issues. Her rooms were on the top floor of the hotel with no balcony, so that was a nonissue, but the locks on the door were not the best. Also, double doors could be easily breached if they were not bolted into the floor. It annoyed him that these were not. He had zip ties though. He could lash the handles together and provide some added security—and time, should anyone decide to attempt an incursion.
After she called in their order, Catherine went to the bathroom. She was in there a long time. Long enough for Garrett to suspect that what she really needed was some time alone. This had been a rough day—for all of them.
Still, after a while, he knocked on the door. “Are you okay?” he asked.
“Fine,” she called, but he noticed it was a watery response.
Yeah. She just needed time to deal with all this. He could hardly blame her.
She emerged just before the knock came on the door, announcing their dinner had arrived.
It was tough, sitting there at the table, watching her eat. Watching her swirl her fries in the ketchup and suck it off. Watching her lick her fingers. Fucking lick her fingers.
Did she have any idea how sexy that was?
He wanted nothing more right now than to yank her into his arms and kiss her.
But he couldn’t. Shouldn’t.
She looked up. Caught him staring at her. Instead of a glower—as he expected, being caught out like this—her eyes widened like a gazelle on an African plain sighting a predator.
And fuck. He felt like one.
Especially when that wanting look flickered through her eyes.
Oh, she tried to hide it, but he saw it. Couldn’t miss it. It sent a flame licking through his body. He was damn tired of pretending. Tired of looking away. Tired of acting like the simmering arousal he felt for her didn’t exist. Tired of keeping himself constrained.
As he continued to watch her, she became restless. And then she frowned. “Stop that,” she said.
“Stop what?”
“Stop looking at me like that.”
“Like what?”
“Like you want to…eat me up.”
He did. He wanted to eat her all up. And he wanted her to know it.
He couldn’t stop his roguish grin. “Scott was right.”
She blinked. “What?”
“It is hard to be with you, day in and day out, and not make a move.”
Her throat worked. “I…ah… Do you want to make a move?”
“Hell, yeah.”
A pink tide crept up her cheeks. “Don’t be ridiculous.”
“It’s not ridiculous in the least.”
“Why are you telling me this?”
“Because you should know.”
“Know? Know what?” Her innocence was feigned. It had to be. She was a grown woman. A knockout. Surely she knew what effect she had on the males of the species.
“You should know how much I want to kiss you right now.”
Her eyes shone. Her lips parted. Her tongue peeped out.
And yeah.
That was an engraved invitation if he’d ever seen one. Without a word, he pushed back his chair and rose. And then he rounded the table, took hold of her wrist and yanked her into his arms.
