Look Into My Crystal Ball

If someone could tell you your future, would you want to hear? Would you want to know who you were going to fall in love with? How many children you were going to have? How he was going to break your heart but then put it all back together again? When and how you’d die?

What if you didn’t have a choice? What if you saw the future? What if you could feel when you were on the right path? And knew when you were on a path were very bad things happened?

That’s Rowe's position in Covert Desires. She doesn’t really have much of a choice. She’s a Sub Type Six. She was made to see the future. When she was government property, she was hooked up to machines that would see and record the prophecies. Now that she’s a citizen, however, she has to find her own way. Sometimes it’s easy. She just lets life guide her down the paths that feel right to her. But other times she has to improvise. Like when she and Jack are captured during an undercover investigation.

Excerpt:

“See, if she was a prophet, you would’ve known you was talking to the boss earlier. And you most certainly would’ve seen this coming.” He nodded and the man behind Jack brought the butt of his weapon into the back of Jack’s head. He collapsed like a rag doll under the force of the hit and he didn’t move again.
Her heart stopped and her breath caught in her lungs as the world blurred around her. Her body no longer hurt and she couldn’t feel the tight grasp Thomas had on her hair. She was completely focused on Jack. When his chest rose with a breath, her heart began to beat again.
“You’re wrong. I am a prophet.”
Thomas laughed loudly. “And I’m the prime minister.” He stopped laughing and pulled her tightly to him. “You’re with Special Investigations. I know a rat when I see one. I’m not an idiot, bitch.”
But he was. He’d proven his folly in her past. Or in his future. She shook her head as she tried to straighten out the timeline. In the end it didn’t make any difference. Whichever it was, he failed. There was an escape here. Some path that got her and Jack out of here and led to Thomas’ downfall. She only had to find it. Now was the time to test her theory. She had to try to focus on that one path and forget the others.
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. The fuzzy image of a nail flashed through her mind. It poked out of the wall as nothing more than a glint of metal in an otherwise dark room. Such a small thing. It was so insignificant her captors probably didn’t even realize it was there. But that one tiny glimmer of metal would save them both. She just had to find the track that would put her next to it.
She opened her eyes and shoved against Thomas as she brought one of her heels down on his foot. She didn’t weigh much but she hoped the element of surprise would work in her favor. Since she’d done little to fight back up to this point, Thomas had no reason to anticipate it now.
He cursed as her heel made contact and then stumbled as she continued to push as hard as she could against him. Her hands were still trapped behind her back but her shoulder provided a large enough surface for her to have an impact. Soon she was free of his grasp. Spinning, she ran for the nail.
A sharp pain erupted at the base of her skull and stopped her from reaching it, however. Her knees gave out from under her and her cheek hit the cold concrete floor. The air rushed out of her lungs and for one second she forgot how to breathe.
***
So, would you want to know how your story was going to end before it even began? To see a glimmer of hope only to have it pulled away at the last second?
I don’t think I’d like it. But, as Rowe states, she’s a Sub Type Six. This is what she was created to do. And she’s the best at it.
Covert Desires Blurb:
Universal Defiance, Book Six

Rowe is a Sub Type Five—a prophet—so her future should be laid out in front of her, clear as the stars in the night sky. But since Type Fives can’t remember their visions once they wake, the only thing she’s certain of is her overwhelming attraction to her partner, Jack. And that the desire seems one-sided. Jack does everything he can to put space between them.
After working undercover together to bring down a militia group, she discovers she got that one wrong though. Some hot encounters reveal that Jack wants her as much as she wants him. But they’ll have to survive the final mission and discover the identity of its mastermind before she finds out what their future holds.

Welcome Tina Donahue - guest Diva for her new #EllorasCave Exotika release Taking Eve!
Super SMEXY!!!!

BUY LINK - http://www.ellorascave.com/taking-eve.html

A willing slave to possession, punishment, pleasure…

Dreams of a manor where submission and dominance once ruled draws Faith to hypnotherapist Colin Danes. Potently virile, he looks remarkably like her most cherished master from a past life. Desire smolders in his eyes, proving he’s never forgotten her.
Their carnal dance continues in the present and leads to their past when she was known as Eve. Through hypnotherapy, Colin brings her back to the Victorian era, a hidden estate where she eagerly submits to whatever he and her other noble masters crave. The exquisite discipline of the strap. Being bid on and mounted each night. Displayed and used for the enjoyment of all.

Most will take her. One will try to imprison her. Only he will be her true master in that life and this.

Excerpt:

Taking her arm, Spencer brought Eve to the table so the mirror caught her in profile. He removed her bands and chains, tossing them aside. The fetters clinked against the snowy marble floor. He pulled off her fur boots, leaving her with nothing except the white satin ribbon.
“Bend over the table,” he ordered. He took off his derby and shrugged out of his greatcoat, putting both near the lone chair. “Spread your legs wide and present—“
“She’s not to be harmed,” Anthony interrupted.
Eve looked from man to man, feeling their struggle for power, Anthony’s indignation that he wasn’t in charge of her.
“No, my lord.” Spencer spoke as dismissively as he had earlier. “However, I have to examine and prepare her for tonight’s event, the same as I’ve done in the past with all the others. You’re well aware of that—are you not, my lord?”
Anthony clenched his jaw.
“Perhaps his Lordship would care to announce the girl’s arrival to the rest,” Spencer said. “Then await our entrance as he’s done before.”
Anthony seemed ready to argue the point, but didn’t. He left the room, slamming the door.
The thunderous sound had barely died out when Spencer edged close, his size and heat intimidating Eve, but also stirring something within her. A desire for a firm hand, a strict taskmaster.
Carefully, Spencer brushed Eve’s hair aside, his fingertips lingering on her shoulder. His touch light. Pleasant. Her breathing picked up. She waited for more. He leaned down, his cheek close to hers, his powerful body clearly restrained, his scent one of soap, wool, leather.
“Do as I ordered,” he whispered. “Be quick about it.”
She had no choice. Eve knew she wanted none. Unnerved, she obeyed, palms on the table, nipples touching the polished surface, legs parted widely, ass lifted.
Her position was deliberately revealing, meant to show Spencer both of her openings.
Eve lowered her face.
“No,” Spencer said. “Look at yourself and me in the glass. Watch what I do to you…what you can’t stop.”
Heat stung Eve’s cheeks. She turned to her reflection, seeing a face she scarcely recognized, one feverish with excitement and lust. Her hair was a black cloud drifting over her naked shoulders.
With his hands on his narrow hips, Spencer regarded her naked ass as a lord might—arrogant and unhurried—his pace telling her what she already knew. He ruled as all men did. As a woman, she yielded. Even to him.
Eve’s cunt grew damp with wanting.
He finally moved to the other side of the table, his stiffened shaft straining against his trousers. His arousal filling Eve with a curious combination of excitement and dread.
Would he take her before her other Masters did?
Would he whip her?
He returned to his original spot, a roguish look on his face. “Wider,” he ordered.
She spread her legs even more.
“Arch your back. Present your lovely arse to me.”
Eve strained to meet his demands, her body obedient even as her mind rebelled. She was more fully exposed to him than she’d ever been to Anthony.
A faint smile touched Spencer’s mouth. Minutes passed as he studied her scandalous pose.
Her skin reddened from the fire’s warmth and the turmoil building within her.
He dropped to one knee for a better look at her cunt and anus. His breath skimmed her thigh.
A low moan caught in Eve’s throat. She tried to swallow but couldn’t. She saw his arousal…and her own.

“You’re quite wet,” he murmured.

“That’s Devlin Fox?” She glared across the restaurant. It wasn't bad enough that the gorgeous guy she ran into on the ferry turned out to be friends with the douche in the ascot she’d been running from.

No.

He had to be her worst enemy too.

Damn. Damn damn damn.

“You know him?” Bella asked.

“He writes a Foodie Blog.” Tara glowered around the table, trying hard not to snarl. Or pout. “He gave Stud Muffin a bad review.”

“What?” Cam squawked.

Jamie shook her head. “Why did he do that?”

Tara crossed her arms over her chest. She’d spent her life learning her craft. Spent her life savings opening her own bakery. Spent years building clientele. Then, with one crappy review, business had tanked. Totally into the toilet. In one fell swoop, many of her regulars had stopped coming in.

She wasn't sure she’d be able to make the bills this month, which was devastating.

And all because of him.

It was unfair for one man to have so much power.

And why had he panned her bakery? “Because I don’t have gluten-free.” She muttered, then added, under her breath, “Big baby.”

Still, gluten-free was a huge deal in Seattle. She’d spent the past week working up recipes. And fantasizing about wreaking vengeance on a certain blogger.

It had been a mere fantasy, until now. But now…

Kaitlin shifted closer, drawing Tara’s attention. “What are you thinking?” she asked in a whisper, her features tight.

Tara froze. It didn't do to think around Kaitlin. Not that the elfin redhead read minds, or at least that’s
what she claimed. But she seemed to know things.

“Nothing.” Tara made it a point to bat her lashes.

Kaitlin’s nose rumpled, as though she smelled something nasty. Like a lie.

But hell. Tara couldn't tell Kaitlin what she was really thinking because Kaitlin—the sweet, innocent soul that she was—would try to talk her out of it. Ramble on about Karma and shit.

No, Tara couldn't tell anyone what she was really thinking about.

Because she was plotting revenge.

She was going to get Devlin Fox back. And she was going to get him good.

* * * * *

“Hi there.”

Devlin turned on the barstool, his trademark smile firmly in place. Everything within him froze. It was her. That little slice of heaven from the ferry. Damn. She was as hot as he remembered.

She sidled up next to him and the chatter of the bar receded. Fascination—and something else—rose.
“Well hello there.”

He liked her scent, something floral and light. He liked her heat as she pressed against his side. She lowered her long lush lashes and peeped up at him through the fringe. Damn, that was sexy. She licked her lips. That was sexy too.

“I never got to thank you,” she purred.

“Th-Thank me?” Was that her hand? On his thigh?

Shit yeah.

“For saving me.” Her fingers flexed. “I would have tumbled to my death if you hadn't grabbed me.”

“I doubt you would have tumbled to your death. Disfigurement, perhaps. Dire injury. But not death. Don’t exaggerate.”

She laughed, a low chortle. “Well… Thank you.” She leaned closer and whispered, “Can I buy you a drink?”

Devlin blinked. He’d been hit on in bars before, but no woman had ever offered to buy him a drink.
She might just be a perfect woman. “Sure.”

“What’s your poison?”

“Whiskey sour.”

She signaled to the bartender.

“So…I’m Devlin.”

“Devlin.” She cooed. Actually cooed.

“And you are…?”

“Interested.”

He jumped a little as her hand skated up his thigh. His pulse skipped. “I…ah…yes. But what can I call you?” He had a pretty good idea where this was headed, and he wanted to know what to cry out as he sank into her steamy depths. It was only polite to know a woman’s name at a moment like that.

She pursed her lips, as though she were thinking it over. Or thinking about something else. Her thumb snaked up. Nudged his balls, ever so lightly, and through thick denim, but he felt it like an electrical charge. “Call me Sugar.”

“Sugar.” Oh yeah. She was sweet.

“Would you…like to go for a walk?”

“A walk?” His cock lurched. All thoughts of that drink faded.

“It’s a beautiful night…”

She looked over her shoulder and then threaded her fingers in his, leading him toward the back of the bar. He didn't know why they weren't heading for the front door, but didn't much care.

She was a beautiful woman. She wanted him. And he was just drunk enough to follow her anywhere she led.

He shot a glance at Parker who sent him a thumbs up.

They barely made it out the back door of the bar before she kissed him. Damn. Backed him up against the wall, raked her fingers through his hair, pulled his head down and took his mouth.

And damn, she was a good kisser. She ate him with heat and passion and carnivorous zeal. He responded in kind, thrusting his tongue into her mouth. He nearly passed out when she sucked on it, nibbled it, toyed with it. He couldn't help imagining her doing the same to his cock.

Her palm roved over his chest and made its way down to his hips. He didn't dare move as she slowly teased the band of his jeans. She pulled back and held his gaze as she popped the snap.

“Mmm,” she murmured, reaching in. His eyes crossed as she molded his length. Squeezed. “Such a big boy.” She licked her lips and his brain short-circuited. When she went to her knees before him and blew a hot breath on him through the cotton of his briefs, he nearly lost consciousness. “I want to taste you,” she said. “Take off your pants.”

Holy God. Yes.

In a frenzy, he kicked off his shoes, and ripped off his jeans, hopping from one foot to the other. He held still, frozen in place, as she hooked her thumbs in his briefs and eased them down revealing his eager cock. She dragged his underwear down until they pooled at his ankles.

He heard the catch in her moan. Felt the trace of a warm finger around his swollen head and down to the base. He shuddered.

“Ah. Yes,” she said, coming close. Her heat caressed him. His knees knocked. She fisted him. Pumped. Once. Twice. Blood pounded at his temples. Thrummed in his cock. She bent closer. Her damp breath kissed the head. “Such a big dick,” she said.

If he’d been in his right mind, her tone would have warned him, but he wasn't in his right mind. He was a little drunk and a lot horny and there was a gorgeous woman on her knees before him with his cock in her fist. Her mouth hovered over the tip.

Yes. Yes. Just a little more…

She released him and stood up in a rush. Her beautiful, seductive expression morphed into something bitter. He gaped at her, stunned.

“Yeah,” she said, propping her fists on her hips. “You, Devlin Fox, are a big dick.”

And then she left. Whirled on her heel and left him standing there, half-naked, leaning against the grimy brick wall behind a grungy bar.

And she took his jeans.

I tracked down Erotic Romance Author J.K. Coi and she comes BARING gifts!

(watch for the Rafflecopter at the bottom!)
It all started one night...

I was flipping through the RT Magazine looking at the list of upcoming releases for June when an idea formed, took root and grew. I knew what had to be done.

As I promptly put my plans into motion, it became apparent that my elusive prey lived a wee bit from me, but determination fueled my blood and nothing could stop me, not even thousands of miles. I was determined to gain the information I sought.

So, giving up my life of  warmth & comfort, I set aside my Coach Purse and my cool Nike's, slung my ratty-ass backpack over my shoulders and packed a pair of snow shoes. Who's idea was it to construct these friggen' things, anyways?

Where was I going? I didn't know the exact details at the time, other than I knew there was snow, but I could handle a little snow. Right? Only, it was readily apparent that I had no idea what I was in for as I trekked north of the US border into foreign lands, all to find the elusive J.K. Coi.

How in God's green earth could anyone live on this barren expanse of...nothing. As far as the eye could see, snow. Everything was white. I knew it was one of life's little riddles that I would likely freeze to death before I ever figured out. Moving on. With determination fueling me, and reader's across the US and beyond chomping at the bit for the information I knew she held, I continued on...

But as I forged ahead I was about to be taught a lesson, that had I known at the time, I would have turned south and ran like a bat out of hell. But, I ignored my screaming instincts and continued forward. Sadly, my education was brutal and embarrassing, as my wind-blown tears and dribbling snot repeatedly froze solid to my face, laying waste to my latest Clinique makeover and forever humbling me. I would likely never recover from this experience. I had arrived - destination Hell.

Still, I continued on...

Naturally, I had mapped my prey, but as I neared her lovely home I suddenly became leery, ducking back and hiding behind the nearest grouping of trees. I might have forgotten to tell her I was coming and even I had heard the stories of how unwanted visitors were handled in the arctic fields...

I had a perfect vantage point to scout my prey...until I hit a branch, knocking a half-ton of snow from the branches above and burying me hip deep.

Still, barely retaining some semblance of sanity, I bid my time, doing my best impression of a snow man. I was not in the mood to meet the end of a thirty-aught-six, so I watched and waited, looking for any signs of life.

After waiting for hours and still detecting no movement, I soon discovered that I was the only one daring *cough* dumb enough to brave the -25 degree temperature. Well, that is other than the polar bear I could see in the distance, ripping the hide off of some poor, defenseless creature.   Ugh. What had I gotten myself into? FORWARD MARCH!

Digging myself out, I trudged forward. Too frozen to attend to  formalities - my mission, straightforward, obtain heat, then information, in that order - and to frozen to care, I bypassed the whole knocking thing. I turned the handle and, thank my favorite Prada's, found it unlocked (who would have guessed that the frozen arctic was not appealing to thieves?).

Stomping in, with my first step I promptly tumbled to the floor, falling flat on my face in a mass of frozen snot as my snow shoes slipped on the hard wood flooring. This was NOT working the way I had originally envisioned it. Not. At. All. I was to be the hero, bringing back the amazing release from Author J.K. Coi. Bumbling hero, it appeared.

Standing, I scanned the room, ignoring the stacks of packing boxes, as I reached down and ripped the offending bastards from my frozen feet, throwing them across the room, smashing delicate objects waiting to be packed. Whoops. My bad.

More determined than ever to find my quarry, I dropped my backpack and went in search. I had questions that needed answers - writing, life outside of it and a new release - and after traveling to hell and back, I finally found her and I acquired it all, just for you!  (Duct tape & a chair may have been used) =)

Obviously, I like to have a little fun, but in all seriousness, I am beyond excited to introduce to you a spectacularly creative Author (who really does live in a snowy place) - known for her amazing work and her ability to easily breach a multitude of genre's in the Romance world - YA, Paranormal, Contemporary, Erotic and Urban Fantasy.
Author J.K. Coi

I have known J.K. and her work for some time and for those of you who haven't had the pleasure of getting to know her, or her work, I'm honored to make the introduction. =)

S: Starting out, we have to talk about your new release. Is there something (in particular) that inspired you to write your upcoming release, In Bed with the Competition?

JK: I’m not sure, I guess I just wanted to write something a little lighter, lots of fun, that doesn’t take itself too seriously. I also like to change things up every once in a while. If I write nothing but paranormals, I start to get stir crazy.

S: The title makes my imagination run wildWhat inspired it?

JK: LOL. The title was originally Corporate Holiday – and it just didn’t inspire the kind of imagery that we get with In Bed with the Competition, does it? I have to thank my publisher for helping me pick a really edgy, fun, sexy title that really represents what this story is all about.

S: Please tell us a little about In Bed with the Competition. Do you have a favorite scene or scenes? Do tell. Details woman! Details!  Details! =)-

JK: I love the scene when Ben and Beth go walking on the beach at night. They come across this little greenhouse and Ben teases Beth about getting caught breaking and entering. It’s a great scene with sweetness and smiles, but also heat and tenderness. Then again, I also love the scenes where they argue, because the two of them have such great chemistry! J

S: Oh, that does sound so...yummy. That leads me perfectly to our next question. Using a rating scale from ‘tame as a baby kitten’ to ‘RAWR! Claws are out!’ how hot would you rate In Bed with the Competition?

JK: It’s got so much sexual tension you’ll be screaming at the page! *evil laugh* Seriously though, in contrast to some of my other books, the sexual content probably isn’t as graphic or as obvious, but it feels real and potent, and I think it really works!

S: Look below for a taste of what In Bed with the Competition is all about and remember, this is just the first treat...read on for more. MUSH! MUSH! =)

WARNING! IT'S HAWT!

This rivalry is too hot for the tropics…

Elizabeth Carlson and Ben Harrison used to be friends, coworkers...and almost lovers. But that was before Ben proposed mixing business with pleasure. Elizabeth refuses to lose her heart to a hotshot tycoon with a cutthroat, take-no-prisoners attitude. Not with the prospect of starting her own company at stake.

Driven to succeed in all areas of his life, Ben couldn’t resist the temptation to make Liz his. But then she walked away, igniting a bitter rivalry. Competing for the same contract at a Caribbean conference ignites sparks too hot to ignore, and Ben’s determined to finish what they started, even if it’ll only last a few steamy, tropical nights.

Elizabeth’s resolve begins to crumble under Ben’s blatant seduction. Can she walk away from a hot island fling with the sexiest man she’s ever known with her heart intact, or will losing herself in Ben destroy everything she’s fought to achieve?

S: Wow! That was...*fans herself* So, can you tell us, what is your favorite part of the entire writing process? (cause writing that *points above* has to have some guuud parts!) ;)

JK: I love getting those first shimmering ideas and trying to decide how the story will play out. Of course, the writing makes me want to tear out my hair, but then there are those fantastic moments when it just flows so perfectly (usually when I have absolutely no chance of accessing the Internet, LOL).

S: What would best describe your writing style - plotter, planner or a pantster?  Why?

JK: Well, I like to think I’m a plotter, but I always change my plot like…right after I get started, so…maybe not so much. I usually have a pretty good idea where I want to start and where I want to finish, though. That’s good, right?

S: Of all of your work, which one did you enjoy writing the most? Why?

JK: I love all my books as soon as they’re finished. During the writing process I hate everything about them. Wait, that’s not true. There was one book that almost wrote itself from beginning to end. I think I finished the whole thing in something like 2 weeks and it barely needed any revisions. But I’m not going to tell you which book that was…I can’t play favourites with my books *grin*

S: Do you have a favorite character? From which novel/novella and why?

JK: One of my favourite characters is actually from a book I wrote as my alter ego, Chloe Jacobs, who writes dark fantasy for young adults. She’s a kick-ass girl stuck in a dangerous world where everyone wants her dead. Obviously, she’s got some trust issues.

S: You are known for your Immortal Series, a paranormal series featuring sexy-as-sin Alpha Vampires. Your latest release in this series was  Forever Immortal. Do you have plans to continue the series? Details, details!

JK: I would LOVE to continue the Immortals series! That world and those characters are really close to my heart and I do have plans to write more of them as soon as I can. The next book would be Kane’s story. He lost his twin brother in the last book and I’ve been waiting for a chance to let the readers know what happens to him.

S: Do you find it challenging writing in both Contemporary and Paranormal genres?

JK: Sometimes, but mostly I find it freeing. I like the challenge of writing in different genres. I like the change of pace. The kind of story I tell in a contemporary romance is very different than the kind of story I tell in a horror, or a paranormal, or a steam punk. They all have different story expectations and different ways for the characters to grow.

S: What do you like about writing in one genre versus the other?

JK: The thing I like about writing contemporary romance is that the characters can be a little more light-hearted and their struggles are real and relatable. But I like writing paranormal and fantasy for exactly the opposite reasons. I can be angsty and extra dark with the characters and their conflict. And yet at the end of the day, they all go through hell and come back again, they all get tortured before they can see the light.

S: If you could create the “perfect man” from top to bottom, what would you create? Specifically. =)

JK: I think the perfect man would be pretty boring. I like a man with baggage, with issues, with intensity and passion. All those traits would create a very interesting man. But perfect? It might be a better idea if we never get perfect.

S: Outside of writing, what do you enjoy in your spare time? Any hobbies?

JK: I used to do a little bit of painting, and I also like to work stained glass. I haven’t had much time for either of those recently, but when I really need to relax and clear the mind those are the first activities I go for.

S: Who is the one person, in all the world, you want to meet? Why?

JK: If I had the chance, I would want to meet Stephen King. I would really love a couple hours to pick his tricksy, twisted brain! J

S: In ending, is there anything you would like your readers to know about Author JK Coi?

JK: Well, I hate winter and I hate spiders, but I love cheesecake, and I LOVE to hear from readers! Please look me up and say hi!
